Unconfirmed Report: JAB Buys Ambienta Firewall® Mill

TURIN, ITALY–Fabrics & Furnishings International has learned that the large international fabric
wholesaler JAB Anstoetz Group in Bielefeld, Germany has purchased an interest in or perhaps purchased the entire company of Ambienta Firewall S.r.l, a 30 year old contract fabric supplier northeast of Turin in Brembate di Sopra.  
Neither JAB nor Ambienta management confirmed this news but it was given to F&FI by a reliable outside source.
When contacted by F&FI, Chris-Jacob Schminnes, JAB’s President, would only say that “more details about this development would be presented by the summer months.”
Ambienta weaves flame retardant and residential fabrics that combine design, functionality for the contract and residential markets. These fabrics include Dim Out, Blackout, velvets,sheer curtains, printed and woven upholstery fabrics certified to international standards according to the Ambienta website.
