Waverly Names Leahy VP, Friedman Departs

NEW YORK-Thomas J. Leahy has been named to the position of vice president, fabrics, Waverly Lifestyle Group reporting to Dale Williams, president and general manager, Waverly Lifestyle Group.

Leahy replaces Arthur Friedman, vice president of sales who has left to pursue other interests.

Leahy will direct the Waverly fabric sales effort in line with the company's brand strategy. He has direct responsibility for Waverly piece sales to independent retailers, manufacturers, jobbers, furniture manufacturers, export and Canada.

Leahy has over 25 years experience in the home furnishings industry. According to Williams, Leahy ''brings extensive sales and converting expertise that will be a key factor to growing the Waverly fabric business''.

Leahy was previously vice president sales for Cranston Consumer Products, a division of Cranston Print Works Co. He has also held the position of President Cranston Home Fashions. Prior to that he was Vice President of Sales, Home Decorative Market for VIP Fabrics.
