Warwick Fabrics UK Names Roger Head New Managing Director
Cameron Warwick to Return to Australia to Further Develop Relationship with UK Syndicate
Cheltenham, UK -- Roger Head has been named managing director of Warwick Fabrics UK Ltd. as of September 1.
"With the addition of Roger Head, we want to strengthen the UK management. Head brings a wealth of knowledge as a marketing specialist with experience in export and contract markets," said Cameron Warwick, current managing director. "Both areas need further development and this is where Head will concentrate his initial energies."
Head was previously sales and marketing director of Monkwell for five years. Prior to that, he was a consultant in the bedding and upholstery industry and a sales and marketing director of Slumberland.
Head will replace Warwick who is returning to Australia where he will work with the parent company. Warwick has been managing director of the UK converting division since 1996. During that time, Warwick has grown considerably in the domestic market and consolidated its export business. Every year for the last four years, sales have increased 10 percent. Currently, the company's turnover is six million pounds, he said.
"We now have a much broader fabric offer. Previously Warwick UK was upholstery driven and today we are a producer of a complete decorative concept," said Warwick. The complete design concept consists of Warwick products displayed in coordinated room settings with catalogs for the consumer to carry the concept through.
In his new role, Warwick will further develop the connection between Warwick Australia and Warwick UK.
"Warwick UK is a converter while the Australian parent is a wholesaler, and we need to take advantage of both companies' strengths in a joint strategy," said Warwick. "The parent company in Australia is now designing its own collections, which we hope to add to the European offer." F&FI
