Valdese Sees New Faces

May 1, 2008

CONNELLY SPRINGS, North Carolina – Valdese Weavers, LLC has announced the appointment of Robert P. Walters as vice president of Customer Relations, a new position for the company. Also, John Lenox has left Circa 1801, a division of Valdese Weavers, after a 10 year career there. He has left to Circa 1801 to pursue several opportunities and will make his plans known shortly. Circa 1801 has also announced the appointment of Jason Earles as vice president of sales and marketing.

Walters joins Valdese Weavers after a 25-year career in the furniture industry, most recently as senior vice president of Thomasville Furniture Industries, and previously as president of Thomasville Upholstery. He will work closely with and report to Snyder Garrison, CFO & CAO of the company.

"We are extremely pleased to have Bob Walters join our company," said Michael Shelton, president & CEO. "I have known Bob for most of his career, especially during the past 18 years while he was an executive at Thomasville. I have always admired his energetic and creative leadership. At Valdese Weavers, we expect his impact to be evident very quickly as we engage our customers to create and develop cutting-edge service models with them."

Prior to his appointment at Circa 1801, Jason was the sales manager for the Valdese International Products (VIP) division of Valdese Weavers.

Earles came to Valdese Weavers in 2007 after three years as the national sales manager for The Robert Allen Group. The High Point native began his career in textiles with P. Kaufmann/Braemore in 1999 as a sales representative. He is a graduate of Guilford College. He now lives in Hickory, NC.

"Jason Earles will lead our sales effort to re-establish the brand identity of Circa 1801 in the market place, and will compliment the creative genius of Margaret Coffin, Vice President of Design & Product Development," said Michael Shelton. "We brought Jason into our company in 2007 with the expectation that he would very quickly assume a key leadership role. His talent and experience is perfectly suited for this opportunity."

"I have a keen appreciation for the heritage of Circa 1801 from my time at Doblin in the mid 80's," said Shelton. "From Arnold Doblin, who founded Doblin Fabrics to Josh Schneider and John Lenox, who with Margaret Coffin created Circa 1801, many individuals have helped bring the company to this point. I am excited that we now have the opportunity, through the leadership of Margaret Coffin, Bill Garner, Vice President of Manufacturing, and Jason Earles to take Circa 1801 to a new level of importance in the market."

"I also want to recognize the contributions of John Lenox, who led Circa 1801 for many years. We wish John well in his future endeavors," said Shelton.
