March 31, 2009

VALDESE, North Carolina - Kim Grimsley has accepted Valdese Weavers' offer to make her the Design Director and Marketing Manager for the Circa 1801 brand, a position which takes effect immediately according to Valdese.

Grimsley previously held the position of Vice President of Design and Merchandising for Tietex Interiors, a division of Tietex International which was recently sold to Burlington Manufacturing. In her new position at Valdese, Grimsley will be responsible for the development of the Circa 1801 brand including the management of product development and design of fabrics that carry the Circa 1801 identity. She will also be developing and implementing marketing strategies for the brand and working directly with its customers.

''Kim Grimsley has become one of the most accomplished design and marketing talents in our industry through her leadership at Tietex, and previously at Craftex,'' said Mike Shelton, President and CEO of Valdese Weavers. ''I think her dynamic leadership, coupled with the very talented creative team at Circa 1801, will take this brand to an exciting new level of prominence in the decorative fabric market.''

In other news of Circa 1801's ongoing expansion, Shelton recently told Fabrics & Furnishings International that Valdese expects to have Circa 1801 doing 100 percent of its own yarn dying and is already half way there.
