Tucker Has the 'Heart of a True Textile Designer'

January 8, 2000

London - Leonie-Mae Tucker is a senior associate of Hirsch Bedner Associates, a hotel interior design company, in the London office.

She has spent her entire career since the age of 17 in the textile industry; first as apparel designer for 12 years and then later in the interior design business.

Tucker completed her textile training with a four-year fashion design degree from St. Martin's and then a master's in textile development and design from Royal College in London. ''I have the heart of a true textile designer,'' she said.

Tucker said she searches for the best products her client can afford. ''Our look is transitional with eclectic touches, but don't let that fool you! We've also designed a contemporary restaurant in Knightsbridge (London).''

''So why aren't you fabric sellers coming to see us in London?'' she wants to know. ''We've specified fabrics for upholstery, bedspreads and curtains for some of the biggest hotels in the world.''
