Thriving Exports Business Sparks Personnel Advancement at Duralee

March 24, 2004

BAY SHORE, N.Y. – Duralee Fabrics Ltd. has hired its first internal marketing employee, Robin Gordon, to be the firm's director of marketing.

Gordon left her position as director of marketing at Kravet Fabrics after a seven-year tenure there, stating that Duralee presented her with a challenging opportunity that she couldn't resist.

"I'm just really very excited to be here, and I have a lot to do," Gordon said. "It's a big job, and it's a challenge."

Gordon now handles the marketing for all Duralee collections, including Highland Court, Techstyle Contract Fabrics, Suburban Fabrics and Duralee Fine Furniture. She reports to Duralee President Martin Rosenberger.

Duralee has also hired Denise Loughrey as director of systems management, a new position. She relocated from Intech Software Services in Wellington, New Zealand, where she worked on the Duralee account, Duralee Vice President Lee Silberman said. Loughrey is responsible for all business applications software, including customer service and e-commerce. Duralee has also promoted Maryjeanne Ramos to director of design for Highland Court Fabrics and Duralee woven upholstery fabrics. She has been with the firm for five years.

Silberman credited the personnel developments to a thriving export business. Duralee's Mideast export business has rebounded quite well in the past quarter, and overall exports increased by 30% in 2003 from 2002. "We're adding another 30% this year over 2003," Silberman said.
