Textile Titan, Juan Angel Ribera Francés Dies

ALICANTE, Spain— Juan Angel Ribera Francés, one of the foremost leaders in the textile industry in Spain and founder of the textile giant, Athenae, one of largest home furnishings textile producers and exporters of textiles in the country, died July 2.

Ribera is survived by his wife, Antonia Poveda González; two children, a son, Eliseo and daughter, Susana, both involved in the operations of Athenea, his three brothers: Luis, Eliseo and Jorge, and six grandchildren: Gala, Brett, Begoña, Miranda, Patricia and Blanca.

"It has been a really very big loss for us. He has left an empty space in our lives. He was a really hard worker, a wonderful man with a very open and creative mind," said Susana
