Shaw Hospitaly Group Wins IIDA/HD Product Design Award

May 28, 2008

DALTON, Georgia —Shaw Hospitality Group won the prestigious IIDA/HD Product Design Award for its Floor Architecture Collection at HD Expo 2008. This honor recognizes and pays homage to excellence and innovation in product design for the hospitality industry.

"We are thrilled to win this award," said Desiree Worsley, vice president of marketing, Shaw Hospitality Group. "Shaw Hospitality is continually redefining the ever-evolving language of design to produce high quality products for the hospitality industry. "

Pamela Rainey, senior stylist and designer of the award winning collection, was inspired by her series of striking black and white photos that depict mid-century modern architecture in Palm Springs. On display, each carpet was accompanied by the picture that supplied the creative muse. In addition to the meaningful story behind each piece, the fiber is 100 percent recyclable and is available in 17 different patterns.

"What impressed us was that Shaw Hospitality delivered without compromise," said Vivica Bissonnette, one of the participants in the four-person judging panel. "The product is functional, beautiful, affordable and environmentally responsible: all of the components designers and end users are ultimately looking for. Pamela Rainey was right on the mark."
