Mastercraft Taps Thompson; Gurman, Aingorn Depart

December 5, 1999

Spindale, N.C. - Peter Thompson has joined Mastercraft Fabrics as Vice President of International Sales, according to Ray King, President. Thompson will be responsible for export and import activities for Mastercraft, Doblin and Home Fabrics. He was regional Vice President of Sales for the CDF division of Culp Inc. prior to joining Mastercraft in this new position. Prior to making the announcement, Regina Gurman and her sister Ita Aingorn left Mastercraft after 20 years with the company. They had been responsible for all export sales for Mastercraft. It is also expected that Thompson will assume responsibility for export activities of other divisions, namely Joan and Main Street as well as all independent agents worldwide. Under a new arrangement, various managers - all reporting to Thompson - will head up globally divided territories for all product lines. Thompson has been involved with the US fabrics industry since 1975 when he joined Phillips Mills. Phillips was acquired and merged into Culp CDF several years ago and Thompson stayed on with the new division. Although Mastercraft President Ray King made the appointment, Thompson will report to Elkin McCallum, the controlling principal owner of Mastercraft and related companies.
