EBELTOFT, DENMARK - Kvadrat had worldwide sales of $280 million in 2019 and expects to significantly increase sales in North America now that the company is going direct in the USA.

A company spokesman says Kvadrat is virtually integrated and owns fully or partly four textile mills in Yorkshire, UK, Norway, and The Netherlands that represent 80% of Kvadrat’s sales.

“Over the past 10 years, Kvadrat has evolved from a converter to a vertically-integrated manufacturing company,” the company says. “Kvadrat will be looking into a partnership with US mills and producing in North America in the coming years.

Kvadrat has assembled its own sales team in North America as a result of Maharam’s departure as its exclusive distributor. Jan Veisholt is the new VP of Kvadrat North America. He will cover contract, industry, and residential clients in the United States Veisholt is Danish and has lived his whole life in the UK; he has worked in different functions at Kvadrat for many years, most recently as EVP Global Sales. Shawn Cook will function as Operational Director. Cook is American and worked for a number of years as Co-Director of Global Marketing at Kvadrat in Denmark. Niels Therkildsen will lead the A&D Team on the east coast; Niels is also a Kvadrat veteran who has worked in Scandinavia and Germany and spent the past eight years in New York. Kelly Queen, who has been appointed Industry Sales Director, will lead the initiative towards the North American furniture industry, and Allison Sewell will lead Kvadrat’s work with residential architects.

The Kvadrat sales effort will be conducted through its exclusive showrooms in New York at 7,000 square feet and Los Angeles with 3,300 square feet.
