Jeff Layne
NEW YORK—Jeff Layne, the co-founder of Arc|Com fabrics in 1972, passed away November 17.
He is survived by his wife, his son Marc, and a daughter.
Arc|Com was purchased earlier this year by CF Stinson.
Honoring the life and legacy of Jeff Layne — a loving father, grandfather, husband, and cofounder of Arc|Com. His creativity, determination, and generosity helped shape an industry and touched countless lives. To his family, he was a devoted husband, father, and proud grandfather whose wisdom and kindness guided everyone around him. Jeff’s legacy of innovation, purpose, and heart will live on through all those he inspired. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Comment On Jeff Layne's Passing from Franco Nannucci, well known sales agent:
Everyone of us has stories and anecdotes about Jeff Layne, he has been a great person within our industry.
I would like remember him for something that has not much to do with our industry.
One day he called me, 2018, while I was in Frankfurt and told me he was going to share part of the profits of the new Neocon collection with my non profit to support a project and school I built in Burkina Faso in 2015/2016. I was so happy to feel he really loved the idea and he did for several years. I and the children of the school will be thankful forever. His support made the difference in keeping the school working during some difficult time.
I can not say Arc Com was a major customer of mine, but we always had a great relationship and respect for 30 years, I meet him the first time in 1995 together with his brother Peter.
My deepest condolences to family and the many that spent decades working at Arc Com.
