Drapilux Focuses 2010 Efforts on Specialty Fairs

October 30, 2009

EMSDETTEN, Germany – Curtain fabric producer, Drapilux, a member of the major textile conglomerate, Schmitz-Werke Group, has announced that for the first time in more than 30 years, the company will not exhibit at Heimtextil Frankfurt in January of 2010.

According to a company-issued release, Drapilux made the decision based on sales policy factors and a shift in focus. As the company has been developing new designs for its main target areas which include hotels, ships, hospitals, retirement homes and offices, Drapilux plans to spend its dollars exhibiting at special interest fairs including Altenpflege in Hanover, Gastro in Rostock, Intergastra in Stuttgart, Hogatec in Dusseldorf and the Sleep Event London, among others.

To meet the demands of the challenging healthcare, hospitality and office sectors, Drapilux is developing fabrics like its "bioaktiv" fabric designed to significantly reduce hospital germs and infective agents. The Drapilux Air product freshens air and can improve air quality in bars or small cabins on cruise ships.

According to the release, the company has not decided whether it will exhibit at Heimtextil Frankfurt fairs in the future.
