Donald Rifkin Joins Covington

November 30, -0001

New York, New York - Donald Rifkin has been named director of inventory control and strategic planning of Covington Fabric & Design, LLC according to Mark S. Kahan, chairman & CEO of this fabric converter.

Rifkin is a graduate of Stanford University and as well as Wharton, graduating in 1993 with an MBA in marketing. For the past 15 years, Rifkin has held varying positions in financial and marketing management. Covington was sold to Kahan and Rifkin family members about two years ago.

Kahan said that Covington has a positive cash flow and the challenge now is to further increase the sales of the company which may be achieved through a revamping of its contract line which Convington expects to introduce the line over the next few months. This collection will be sold through the same sales group as the residential product line.

While Rifkin joined the company this fall, assuming the challenge of a new position, Mayer Kahan, executive vice president, has left his intensely active day-to day position at Covington in favor of a less arduous role based in Springfield, MA. Mark Kahan said that Mayer needed to spend more time with his family as well as the Osgood retail/wholesale fabric operation.
