NEW YORK, New York -- Billy DeSousa has joined Westgate Home as vice president of International sales to manage the company's new aggressive export launch, which debuts at Heimtextil in Frankfurt, January 10-13.

DeSousa was with Quaker Fabric for more than a decade. He held various management positions at Quaker including that of export manager. He also worked briefly as director of exports at Bru Textiles of Belgium. DeSousa reports to Jack Cobb, president, Fabric Group.

Ernesto Blasco, previously an export manager at Yebane of Spain, has also joined Westgate Home as export manager for Spain, Portugal, Asia, Australia and Africa. Blasco will report to DeSousa.

''Billy and Ernesto are extremely important additions to our export team as we develop the Westgate brand in the world market,'' said David Li, principal of Westgate Home. ''They will bring tremendous talent, experiences and credibility to help achieve our goal.''

Westgate Home's other export managers include Francis Denoo, who is in charge of sales in Europe and South Africa and Osvaldo Shenquerman who is in charge of sales to South and Latin Americas. Both report to DeSousa.

Westgate Home is launching an export program of 2,500 skus stocked in Shanghai. No minimum is required. This is believed to be the first major mill based in China to launch such an export program.
