De Kort, Van Hout Buy Aabe, Aircraft Specialist

April 4, 2005

TILBURG, Holland — Cornelius de Kort and partner Jan Van Hout purchased Aabe on January 1 for an undisclosed price.

The purchase price includes a factory, equipment and warehouse. Aabe employs 75 people as a specialist weaver of aircraft interiors, specifically seating, carpet, draperies and blankets. The company is a supplier to Boeing and other large aircraft manufacturers.

"We will continue to supply the wholesale specialty market through this mill with an expanded product line," said De Kort, who is a native of Tilburg. He and Van Hout expect to add more equipment to the Aabe facility which now has 36 Dornier jacquard looms as well as piece dye and yarn dye capability. "We will reorganize it, add a new design group and will also add Trevira®CS fabrics and a wool line for the high-end contract market.

"I am a strong believer in buying and reorganizing textile companies to serve the new realities of the market," De Kort added.
