Culp, Inc. Vice Chairman Howard L. Dunn Retires

HIGH POINT, North Carolina – Culp, Inc. has announced that Howard L. Dunn, Jr., vice chairman of Culp, and one of the company's founders, will retire from his position effective December 31. Dunn will stay on with the company on the company's Board of Directors.

''Howard Dunn has been a great part of both the cultural and business development of this company for over 32 years. Our growth and success over the years speak directly to his leadership capabilities and his vision for Culp,'' said Robert G. Culp, III, chairman and chief executive officer. "Since 1972, Howard has played a vital role in Culp's evolution into a fully integrated manufacturer and one of the world's largest marketers of mattress fabrics for bedding and upholstery fabrics for furniture. We accept Howard's decision to retire with regret but also with deep appreciation for his long service to the company."

For the ten years prior to May 2004, Dunn served as Culp's president and COO, until he assumed the role of vice chairman. It was at this post that Dunn held executive responsibility for Culp's China operations.

Culp, Inc., a residential and commercial upholstered furniture supplier, is one of the world's largest marketers of mattress fabrics for bedding and upholstery fabrics for furniture.
