Croscill Mourns Loss of President David Kahn

NEW YORK, New York — Following the recent death of his beloved brother David Kahn, Douglas Kahn will take over as President and Chief Executive Officer of Croscill Home.
Employees of Croscill Mfg. are devastated by the loss of their president, leader and friend, David Kahn, the 48-year-old president of the family-held bedding and bath accessories manufacturer.
Kahn was found dead on Thursday, September 29. A memoriam statement was released by the company on September 30.
''David built a team that is extraordinarily capable and committed to extending his legacy. The business has been evolving and based on the foundation that David laid, I am convinced that we will continue to be a dominant force in the industry,'' Kahn said.
David Kahn is survived by his wife Susan and two children; his parents Michael and Joan; his uncle Stanley who with his brother Michael were both active in the business.
Douglas Kahn previously ran the manufacturing and distribution department based in Durham.
David was the third generation member of his family to run Croscill, a privately held fashion driven bedding and curtain manufacturer founded by his grandfather in 1946. Today, Croscill is considered one of the leading producers of home fashions and bath accessories. The business prospered under Kahn's leadership, key managers say ''and it will be difficult to continue without him but we will do what it takes to succeed,'' a Croscill executive told Sipco.net.
Nearly 300 friends, relatives and members of the U.S. based home textile industry gathered Sunday, October 1 at the Frank Campbell funeral home at 81st Street and Madison Avenue in New York for Kahn's funeral.
David Kahn will be most remembered for his humor, his intense drive for perfection and his great love of family including his extended family at Croscill.
The Kahn Family, owners of Croscill Home ask that friends of David Kahn donate money to the following two charities in lieu of sending flowers:
