Buytenhuys Joins Brimar Trimming

DEERFIELD BEACH, Florida - Mark Buytenhuys has been named sales director at Brimar, a 22-year-old, privately held trimmings, hardware and fabric wholesaler based in Lake Forest, Ill., a suburb of Chicago.

Brimar sells its lines to designers through a network of independent showrooms.

In this new position for Brimar, Buytenhuys reports to company owner Dieter Thirgart, who is a partner, along with his wife Ursel, in the company; which continues to be a steady customer for Castellano Beltrame, a trimming producer born from two Italian families about 40 years ago.

Buytenhuys was previously with Castellano Beltrame; 14 years in the home office in East London, South Africa. He served the USA branch for the past five years, most recently as sales manager. He reported to Ian Heunis, president of the USA branch.

Buytenhuys is now in the process of moving his family from Florida to Chicago.

Heunis was not available for comment.
