Brintons Joins With Timorous Beasties

April 5, 2007

ATLANTA, Georgia – One of the world's largest custom-woven Axminster carpet manufacturers, Brintons, has announced a new line to debut at HD Expo in May.

Brintons has joined with Scottish designers, the Timorous Beasties, to create new collections for carpet projects. The first offering will be called Timorous Beasties by Brintons and will feature nine stories. Included in the line will be creations such as Leaves, Tudor Rose Wood and Iguana. The series of new stories is presented in warm gold, red and purple, with chocolate brown tones and teal highlights. The woven carpets are made of 80 percent wool and 20 percent nylon and are part of a custom collection which can be re-colored.

Jonathan Young, CEO of Brintons Americas, said that this collaboration has resulted in an effort that goes against conventional design rules. Paul Simmons, founding partner of Timorous Beasties, said about developing the corridor pattern, "We wanted the pattern to surprise by sprouting out at random, seemingly from nowhere, as if it had a life of its own."

Brintons is a family-owned business that was founded in 1783. They have plant facilities in the UK, Australia, India and Portugal and showrooms across the globe. About 90 percent of their U.S. sales come from the commercial market; serving hospitality and other specialty needs.
