Brentano Celebrates 20 Years

January 29, 2010

WHEELING, Illinois - This month, family-owned textile company, Brentano, celebrates its Platinum anniversary and readies itself for a year-long launch of celebratory collections.

The company, which was founded by Iris Wang and her husband, E-Kwan Chen, started with eight fabric patterns which Wang designed. Chen was in charge of administrative tasks such as sourcing textile mills and with his business savvy and Wang's artistry, the team was able to launch a successful company that has grown into an internationally renowned business, boasting representation and partnerships with major firms like Donghia and Pollack.

Brentano is currently planning for its February launch of the first half of its year-long Platinum collections introduction, as well as a long season of lectures, appearances and celebrations. Wang will start with a lecture at Toronto's Interior Design Show devoted to the importance of color. She will then speak to students at Columbia College in Chicago about fiber content and textile choices. Her lecture series will conclude in New York in October where she will host an event cosponsored by Pollack to celebrate 20 years of the two manufacturers working together.
