Bill Riekert, 67

NEW YORK, New York -- Bill Riekert, a well known hospitality sales representative based in Idyllwild, CA near Palm Springs, died suddenly during a trip to purchase a resort property in Costa Rica on Oct. 31.

According to a report from one of his associates, Riekert was found unconscious in his hotel room and died shortly thereafter of unspecified causes.

He is survived by one son named Roth, based in Connecticut.

Riekert was well known to many in the contract textile industry as a sales executive and as an independent sales representative calling on the hospitality specifier and purchaser. His company was known as International Textiles. At one time in his career he worked for Rae Trading, a New York textiles importer/exporter.

More recently, in his work as a sales representative, he represented Steiger of Switzerland, Northeast Textiles, Ellen Textiles and EuroFab. Bill also worked closely with Jerry Folgeman, the owner of Ellen Textiles in New Rochelle, NY.
