Fandu Decoration stand promotes copying of designs at Intertextile
SHANGHAI—Zhejiang Fandu Decoration Material Co., Ltd. based in Shaoxing, China was censored by the (IP) Intellectual Property office of the Intertextile show organizer for promoting copying of name brand fabric houses.
Lin Li Rong from the show organizer’s IP office forced Fandu owner Mr. Fans to remove all reference from his stand No. 6.2A77 on the second day of the Intertextile Exhibition here, Thursday, August 21, 2025. Copying of fabric designs is strictly forbidden and enforced by Intertextile.
“Copying is expressly forbidden, and this is written into all exhibition contracts,” according to Li Rong who is based in Beijing. Mr. Fans knew about the rules against copying, but he promoted copying in the final stand design. Most of the language promoting copying of world-famous fabric brands was removed.
“We cannot close the stand due to the nature of the contract we signed but we can force the exhibitor to remove the material regarding copying intellectual property,” Li Rong told F&FI. The IP office was reacting to a complaint made by one of the brands mentioned in the stand promotional material.
