Wearbest, Ferdinand Visser, Satin and May-Tex Win Awards at Decosit
January 17, 2003
Brussels - An international jury gathered during Decosit to choose three winning entries out of more than 300 fabrics submitted for annual Decosit awards. During the exhibition, the fabrics were on display at Decosit's sample bank in Hall 9 and at the sample bank of DecoContract. Trevira also presents an award at the ceremony.
The award for contract design went to Wearbest Sil-Tex Mills (Garfield, N.J.) for an upholstery fabric which combined different weaving techniques in a fresh color combination with geometric inspirations.
Ferdinand Visser BV won the contract award for technical innovation with a grey three-dimensional fabric in glittery weave.
In the residential category, Satin Textiles (Klongsarn, Bangkok) won the Decosit trend award for a modern looking fabric in black and white. The Trevira Award went to May-Tex, the recently acquired contract arm of Luciano Marcato (Cinisello Balsamo, Italy), a DecoContract exhibitor. F&FI
