BRUSSELS—Weverij Van Neder n.v. based in Azegem, Belgium is rebranding itself as ‘Van Neder’ and pushing for more European sales.
The rebranding effort was spearheaded by Charlotte Van den Broucke, communications manager and it coincided with Van Neder’s showing at DecoSit in September.
“The UK is our number one market today,” Michael Van Neder, the third-generation family manager explains. “We have an in-house coating capability to meet the UK FR code and are yarn dyed forward. We piece dye outside our factory. We want to increase our sales with Europe, especially with France and Germany,” he adds.
As part of the increased sales effort, Van Neder created a new logo and website, Van Neder says. He has been with the company for 20 years while his twin brother Vincent is the plant manager and a third brother, Nicolas oversees finance.
“My father restarted the business in 1956,” Michael says. “We were weaving towels when he took over and since then we became a weaver of upholstery velvet and flatwoven jacquards, Michael explains.
Today, Van Neder employs 27 people with a specialty in polyester chenilles selling from five to 12 Euros.
