MIAMI BEACH, FL—The current USA Government has published a list of reciprocal tariffs many of us have already seen before.
What does it mean to the consumer and to our industry?
About 90 percent of the American consumers will be paying a lot more for
imported products than ever before; that of course includes home/decorative fabrics, furniture and everything made to decorate the home.
"The top ten percent of Americans will not care about this but the bottom 90 percent of consumers will feel the bite and so will the retailers and wholesalers,” says one major wholesaler who did not want to be identified.
Will the new tariffs bring more production back to America?
Wait and see what happens. Get used to higher prices from the off-shore manufacturers. They have no choice—no more than we!
Life goes on. Happy hunting!
