New Suppliers Still Show Up at Interwoven

HIGH POINT, NC—Interwoven hosted several new suppliers this November including Ocean Fabrics Industries of China, Texstyles of Denmark and Barbatex S.A. De C.V. of Mexico.

Ocean Fabrics Industries (Zhejiang, Haining China) is a mid-sized weaver with 100 employees. It has been in business since 2013, says Henry Huang, Sales Director.

Ocean owns 100 dobby looms which produce $2-$6 polyester chenilles and $3-$7 microhide vinyl upholstery,” he says. “We’re now shipping more fabric to furniture manufacturers in Vietnam through our separate company Cong Ty TNHH. We do cut and sew and warehouse in Vietnam but we do not weave there,” he adds. “We don’t ship much to the USA but distribute fabrics primarily in Asia so US tariffs don’t affect us much,” he explains. 

Texstyles DK is a boutique converter with 12 employees which first specialized in indoor upholstery as a converter of dobby goods with everything made in China since 2017 according to Soren Moller, CEO & Creative Director. The company produced its first outdoor line in 2022.

Texstyles specializes in solution dyed acrylic, polyester and blends in the $5-$10 range with more than half of its sales in China to China sales. The other half is sold in Europe where the company just won a German Design Award for its outdoor line.
Texstyles has a showroom in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and a second showroom in Lingping, China. Moller is now considering opening a warehouse in the USA to serve the upholstered furniture market in the USA for the first time.

Barbatex is a mill based in Guadalajara, Jal, Mexico that was launched by parent company’El Surtidor del Tapicero’ with 45 years in the business producing and distributing Mexican decorative fabrics.
Barbatex was developed in 1971 with the sole aim of exporting Mexican made fabrics to foreign markets, especially the USA. Adrian Barba is the second generation CEO of Barbatex, started by his father.

Barbatex extrudes its own polypropylene yarn so there is no tariff on these goods exported to the USA.
