Management Buys Out Lanscot-Arlen

NEW YORK - On 1 September, Lanscot-Arlen announced that its senior management teamed with an Atlanta, Ga.-based private equity fund to acquire all of the assets and businesses of Lanscot-Arlen, including the Wilmington Piece Dye Company.

Led by Clement Ramdin, Lanscot-Arlen's chief of operations, senior management acquired both companies from Saul Nulman (formerly the primary owner) and Glenda Kirby (formerly the president). Both Nulman and Kirby have agreed to assist the management team affect a smooth a transition.

Ramdin becomes CEO and Robert Woodcock, head of sales and marketing efforts, takes on additional duties as president.

With annual sales of about $50 million, Lanscot-Arlen is a supplier of yarn- and piece-dyed and printed jacquards, sheers, burn-outs, organzas, faux silks and other novelty constructions. The company provides middle to upper end fabric for the bedding, furniture, table linen and apparel industries.

The company's showroom, design facilities and administrative functions are based in New York City. Converting operations and global distribution are located in Concord, N.C. Wilmington Piece Dye, executes the company's dyeing/finishing processes.F&FI
