Doral, FL–Magitex Decor is seizing opportunity in the face of U.S. tariffs to trade up its extensive drapery line which is 70 percent of its business today, says Ari Greenfield, principal of the 15 year old wholesaler here.
(Ari had just returned from Madrid, Spain with his wife Alissa at the time of this interview and he wanted to share at least one photo.)
“We’re buying $15 a yard goods all the way up to $30 a yard which is a big departure from where we were before. We were buying $10-$20 a yard goods before,” he says.
“We’re going with our strength in sheers, blackout and drapery fabrics although we still sell some upholstery and also have a growing business in performance fabrics,” he adds.
Ari and his dad, Robert own the company and they will be in attendance at Heimtex this year.
They are looking to partner with other wholesalers, especially in Europe where one and one could make three in terms of complimentary product lines.
They have already made several appointments with European wholesalers who will be in attendance at Heimtex.
