April 28, 2023
CHRISTCHURCH, NZ—James Dunlop Textile Group has acquired Marco Fabrics in Australia effective April 1.
The purchase of Marco brings additional international lines to Dunlop including Sanderson Group Plc, Clarke & Clarke, and The Romo Group, encompassing its brands of Black Edition, Kirkby Design, Romo, Villa Nova, Mark Alexander and Zinc Textiles.
“Marco shares many similarities with Mokum and James Dunlop, including a focus on exceptional customer service, quality of design, and breadth of range. Their proven reputation and depth of knowledge will only serve to strengthen our offering to designers, retailers, and manufacturers nationwide,” according to Andrew Mills Managing Director in Sydney, Australia.
Ben Moir, formerly with Marco is now Group Managing Director of James Dunlop in Auckland. Rick Brown, the owner of Marco, who bought the company in 2000 has joined Mokum division of JDG but efforts to reach him were not successful. It is not known what if any role Brown will play at JDG. His future plans are not known at this time.
Mills has been with James Dunlop since 2013.
