Jacob 'Jack' Hurwitz, Original Fabric Pioneer, Passes at 94

GAITHERSBURG, MD--Jacob "Jack" Hurwitz of Rockville, the founder of Jack Hurwitz Inc. in 1952 with his wife Ruth, passed away at the age of 94 on February 11, 2014.

Hurwitz Inc. was one of the original fabric jobber companies which still exists today celebrating its 63rd year under the management of Donald Hurwitz, (Jacob’s son),  principal of Jack Hurwitz, Inc. and President of Carleton House, now an upscale jobber based in Gaithersburg, MD.,

Jack was the husband of 65 years to the late Ruth Weitzman Hurwitz; father of Rae (Jeffrey Mohr) and Donald (Melissa) and grandfather of Robyn and Jason Mohr and Jennifer (Justin) Walsh and Nathan (fiancée Emily) Hurwitz. 

Funeral service and interment were held on Wednesday February 12, 2014 at Judean Gardens, Olney, MD. Contributions in his memory may be sent to Landow House 1799 E. Jefferson St. Rockville, MD 20852.
