MUMBAI—GM Fabrics is entering a higher price range with 30 newly designed cotton and viscose blended Epingle fabrics at $18 and above, a much higher per yard price tag.
The new line will be presented at Heimtextil in January 2026.
This is the first time GM has styled an Epingle line according to Gurvinder Singh, (Singh means lion) principal of this 58-year-old mill based in Tarapur, an industrial area 3.5 hours ride from Mumbai.
His wife, Ramanjit heads up the design effort.
For 58 years, GM specialized in lower price fabrics with nothing over $14 a meter. At the same time GM is upgrading, it is lowering MOQ to 150 meters from 300 meters. These moves are meant to make GM even more competitive than before in a tougher business environment.
