August 23, 2012
EDGECLIFF, NSW, Australia -- Peter Fitzgibbon has established ‘The Textile Company,’ as a new company.
He will continue to represent the UK’s Crowson and Monkwell lines in Australia while carrying other lines including private label fabrics made by Swavelle/Mill Creek and P/Kaufmann of the USA. He has been the importer of Crowson since 1984 and became the exclusive distributor in 1997 when he also established the Australian subsidiary for Crowson U.K., Crowson Fabrics (Australia) and in 2000 Crowson Fabrics (New Zealand). Until recently Fitzgibbon ran both these subsidiaries.
Crowson is well established in Australia and New Zealand but Fitzgibbon wanted to develop other fabric business alongside Crowson and Monkwell.
The Textile Company also distributes the Trend brand (a division of Fabricut) and has recently starting distributing the French brand Camengo.
The Textile Trading Company has showrooms in Melbourne and Sydney. It also represents Waverly, Phillip Jeffries and Clarence House, a division of P/Kaufmann.
