Fischbacher Moves to Shared Paris Showroom

February 13, 2001

Paris – The high-end Swiss editor Christian Fischbacher has moved the location of its Paris showroom. Downstairs.

Formerly on the third floor of 20 Rue du Mail, Fischbacher started sharing a street-level space with the carpet manufacturer Ruckstuhl.

Fischbacher, which offers interior fabrics, bedlinens and greige goods, has had a showroom in different locations throughout Paris for five years.

"This is an area where a lot of fabric editors are grouped and space is hard to find," said Eva Gagny, who is responsible for the showroom. "Ruckstuhl already had a space that big enough that allowed us to share it."

Camilla Fischbacher, PR manager, said both companies had existing branch offices "and wanted to increase their presence and push sales in this style metropolis."

Meanwhile, Fischbacher said that she is taking a reduced role and that Eva Hensel is taking over the company's PR operations. Fischbacher and her husband, Christian had their second child last May – a boy, Sirus – and the couple plans to relocate to America for two years, beginning in July. "My husband is going to do his MBA. I've cut back on the PR, but I'm still running the [St. Gallen] showroom."

Fischbacher said it hasn't been decided what her role in the company will be while she is abroad.
