MAZATLAN, Mexico—In its 25th year of doing business, contract/ hotel specialist Dues is benefiting from a booming market in Mexico, according to owner and Director General Valeriano Suarez S.
His wife, Monica Ley is responsible for sales and administration for the 120-employee operation.
Part of their excitement has to do with Mexican politics. In July, Mexico will choose its next President from two female candidates. Xochitl Galvez of the Social opposition party or Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo from the Morena Party. This will be the first time Mexico will have a female President.
Dues has four showrooms: Mazatlán headquarters, Guadalajara, Mexico City and Los Cabos. “We are working with all hotels in Mexico and the Caribbean,” Suarez says. “We are supplying finished drapery, bed coverings, pillows, and sheets as well as FR fabrics to the hotel industry here. We buy from suppliers in China, Turkiye and Europe for the 5-star hotel market especially.”
According to Suarez, Dues is an important supplier to the Ritz Carlton in Mexico City and the St. Regis Hotels in Los Cabos and Punta Mita. Dues also serves hotel chains like Marriott and Hyatt.
