Deco Design Furus Insolvent; JAB Didn’t Buy This Supplier

BIELEFELD, Germany–Rumors that JAB had purchased Deco Design out of bankruptcy are false according to Chris-Jacob Schminnes, Managing Director of JAB Joseph Anstoetz Group.
“We did not take over Furus. We did not buy assets. We have suffered from the bankruptcy as other editors,” he says. “Here at JAB all is well; we are enjoying a good year and we are very proud and happy about it,” he adds.
Deco Design Furus was an important supplier to JAB in Bielefeld and others since its start in 1987.
Deco Design Furus GmbH filed for bankruptcy July 21, 2025 and has been in formal insolvency since October. The company was owned by Manuel Schweizer and Geos Osnabruck and was a regular exhibitor at Heimtex.
Schweizer was the Managing Director of this medium sized curtain and decorative fabric wholesaler. He is also the owner of ‘OceanSafe’ a successful polymer technology company based in Berne, Switzerland which he started in 2019 to make synthetic fibers biodegradable and recyclable. OceanSafe is not involved in the bankruptcy and continues to supply products to JAB and other wholesalers.
