Troy, MI (USA) - After signing a letter of intent in April to acquire the automotive fabric operations division of Joan Fabrics, Collins & Aikman announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement for the acquisition. It includes all of the operating assets in Joan's affiliated yarn dyeing operation, Western Avenue Dyers.

Joan Fabrics will continue to manufacture for C&A's automotive upholstery on a contract basis.

The terms are as previously announced on April 18th with a targeted third quarter closing.
