AUCKLAND, NZ–Scorpio Agencies owner Brett Fleetwood questions why Heimtextil charges Chinese fabric exhibitors a higher rate than European exhibitors.
“I’ve got dollars in this. I need to understand why my (China based) mills are being charged much more,” he explains.
“In New Zealand, we have anti competition laws; if we do this overcharging, we go to jail or pay huge fines. I’m not used to this,” he adds.
Fleetwood says Chinese stands at Heimtextil now pay 730 Euros to 880 Euros a square meter for stand space while European mills pay 270 to 340 Euros per square meter.
Fleetwood is checking this out with Heimterxtil executives.
“I have evidence from European suppliers and invoices from our Chinese suppliers,” he says.
More on this development later! Heimtextil is scheduled January 14-17, 2025 in Frankfurt, Germany at Messe Frankfurt.
