ADF Adds Finished U.S. Bedding Lines

March 27, 2001

New York — American Decorative Fabrics has purchased a 70 percent interest in Landy Group, a large cut and sew operation in China according to David Li, principal of ADF.

ADF has been marketing and importing jacquard upholstery fabrics worldwide from its sister division, Shanghai Orient West Industries. "A lot of our clients asked us to add services in the cut and sew field," said Li. "Our quota for finished products – bedspreads, curtains, pillows, furniture covers and some apparel – will be limited."

Li said 2000 was "a red hot year. We added a warehouse in Canada and we're now looking for a warehouse in Europe. We also invested in a new dye house and will be adding wide width dyeing capacity in Hangzhou City, China," he said.

In an unrelated development, Edgar Parrado, who had been ADF sales manager in South America has left the firm. He now is associated with Elfa Trading in New York.
