Valley Forge Opens First Dubai-Based Sales Office

November 13, 2006

Dubai, UAE — Valley Forge Fabrics Inc., the largest converter of hospitality fabrics in the world with sales over $74 million annually, opened its first office in Dubai in early November to meet the needs of hotel customers in that region.

Valley Forge is based in Pompano Beach, FL.

Julie Wilkinson has been named regional manager of the Valley Forge Dubai office and walked the floor of Index together with Kimberly Roeser, director of sales for Valley Forge.

"We only make fabrics for hotels," Roeser was quoted in an Index Daily article. "It's a specialist market because they need things to be highly durable and flame retardant. Many of the fabrics coming into this market (Dubai) do not meet these standards. There is a lot of sourcing going on with suppliers supplying residential or casual use fabrics, and it's starting to show," she added.

"Many fabric companies will make fabrics for domestic, residential and furniture and the hospitality sector is like an afterthought. We have been specializing in this one area for 30 years. It is our forte."

The article further quoted Roeser as saying: "Our customers have been asking us to have a direct presence here and to bring our products here. We have been involved in so many projects here but being here really will make a difference."

She feels that having a direct presence in the UAE will both strengthen the relationships with existing customers and open the way to increasing market share in the GCC and wider Middle East.
