Showtime Market in May Could be Postponed; Decision Expected Next Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Showtime Market for May 17-20 could be postponed as officials evaluate the coronavirus developments.

International Textile Alliance (ITA) officials continue to gather feedback from the industry and expect to make a final decision within the next week.

“ITA continues to stay on top of the COVID-19 situation—locally and around the world—and analyze its impact on our upcoming spring Showtime market,” Brian Casey, CEM, executive director of ITA, says in a statement. “Our first priority is the safety and wellbeing of Showtime participants and the High Point/ Triad community. If there is any threat to our stakeholders or community, we will not hold the Showtime market as scheduled and we will communicate this immediately if that decision becomes necessary.”

While evaluating the ongoing situation surrounding COVID-19, ITA is considering all its options, including moving forward with Showtime market as scheduled May 17-20; postponing Showtime market until June; or canceling this season’s Showtime market.

The April High Point Market already has been postponed to June.
