Redwood Distribution buys Edmund Bell

BRADFORD, United Kingdom — Redwood Distribution Ltd., a technical textiles distributor has confirmed its purchase of Edmund Bell Co. Ltd. on July 29 for an undisclosed price from Hanes Mfg., a division of Leggett & Platt.
The principals of Redwood are Brian and John Atherton,father and son.
Edmund Bell Ltd., a drapery linings and fabric distributor, was previously purchased by Hanes about eight years ago. Leggett & Platt is the publicly traded company which owns Hanes.
Bell is based in Bradford, UK while Redwood is based in Skelmersdale, Lancashire UK. Since Edmund Bell is a Decosit exhibitor, John Atherton expects to attend Decosit this year.
