December 31, 1999

Concord, Ontario, Canada — Metro Wallcoverings and Fabrics, based in Canada, has been named distributor for Culp Hospitality & Contract in Canada. The announcement comes at time when Metro is "expanding rapidly in U.S.A.," said Inta Harrison, Metro's Director of Product Development. Harrison is developing the strategy for sales of Culp products to the hospitality industry. "Culp augments our product offerings," she said. "We can now supply our clients with fabric for the first time with a line that is domestically produced and competitively priced." Other Metro accounts include four- and five-star hotels. Metro is owned by ICI, which has headquarters in Great Britain. Although Culp sales in America are handled through Jay Dash International, Metro sells contract wallcoverings from its locations in Chicago, Dallas, Denver and Houston. Calling Metro the "largest distributor of contract wallcoverings in Canada," Harrison said that the company has seven sales representatives in major American cities, including Chicago, Dallas, Denver and Houston. "Metro employees are selling contract wall coverings from major American cities," she said. "We develop special product for our clients in the wallcoverings industry," she said.
