Messe Frankfurt Sponsors Hospitality Match International 2006

March 17, 2006

ATLANTA, Georgia — Messe Frankfurt has signed on to sponsor Hospitality Match International (HMI), an annual one-to-one meeting program produced by Sipco Events.

Through the sponsorship, Daniel McKinnon, vice president of North American trade shows, hopes to benefit from the value of the one-on-one format and attract both high-end hospitality buyers and suppliers to Heimtextil, an annual home textile trade fair held in Frankfurt, Germany. Their next show will be held from January 10-13, 2007.

"I am an advocate of these programs. I believe it is critical to get in front of key decision makers and industry influencers to discuss the highly attractive features and benefits of the world's most dynamic home textile trade show," McKinnon said.

"HMI is an excellent opportunity to have quality, focused interactions with high-end buyers in the hospitality contract business. We look forward to discussing the features and benefits of Heimtextil with them."

Michael Schneider, Sipco Events president and the organizer of HMI introduced the inaugural event to the hospitality industry last October with the help of Zenith International's Helen Marcus.

"We're thrilled to educate buyers and suppliers on the biggest home textile show in the world—Heimtextil," said Schneider. "Heimtextil is a show that featured 2,810 exhibiting companies from 73 countries and 90,000 trade buyers last year. We're honored that they've chosen us to open even more doors for them, and introduce them to the major high-end design firms in the U.S.," Schneider said.

According to Schneider, approximately 35 suppliers have already signed up for HMI 2006—a record level for the program, in its the second year.

HMI pre-matches meetings for buyers and suppliers, arranging 20 minutes of face-time and approximately 20 meetings throughout the course a weekend. Fun and engaging activities, such as seminars, tournaments and receptions are also planned.

"It's all about relationships and a face-to-face interaction. That's the appeal of this event," said Schneider. "We offer guaranteed meetings with buyers and the rare opportunity to sit across the table from a potential customer, get feedback and write orders. We create an environment that is fun and conducive to doing business."

HMI 2006 takes place October 12-15th at the Venetian Resort Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
