Maharam Prepares for New Facility

NEW YORK, New York – Fourth-generation family-run business and pioneer in contract textiles, Maharam has confirmed plans to expand with a new facility in Long Island.
According to James Buresh, the warehouse will open in Brookhaven this fall. The company also plans to construct a new office in Hauppauge, Long Island. The office will be designed by Fernlund + Logan Architects and will open in 2009. Though plans for both facilities are underway, the company has yet to release details other than tentative dates.
Louis Maharam founded the company in 1902, which was first renowned for its theatrical textiles until the 1960s, when Maharam became a leader in contract textiles and began to develop engineered textile for commercial usage.
