BETHEL, Connecticut — Jagtar Silks has moved its warehousing facilities from Bangkok, Thailand to Bethel, CT in order to better serve the uptown decorative designers in the USA.

Rak Singhsachathet is the principal of Jagtar, a 50-year-old mill and editeur based in Bangkok. Previously, Jagtar offered a two week delivery service of cut order through Brunschwig. Now, Jagtar hopes to make deliveries form receipt of order in two to three days with the new warehouse set-up, a company spokesman said.

The line of silk jacquards and plains, $45-$120 a yard to the trade, will continue to be represented by Brunschwig & Fils in North White Plains, NY. The warehousing facility in Bethel will be handled by Hines & Company, another uptown decorative fabric line.

Bruno Garros has also been retained by Jagtar as a sales and marketing consultant to promote the Jagtar collections in the U.S. Garros is also the owner of Arnitex, a year old distributor of high end decorative fabric imports from Europe. Arnitex is based in Cos Cob, CT.

In addition, Sook Martini has been retained by Jagtar to design special fabric collections for the U.S. buyer. She works out of Boston, MA. Martini was previously affiliated with the Robert Allen Group where she designed the Beacon Hill Collection for five years.
