Hunter Douglas Settles Lawsuit with Hengfeng

UPPER SADDLE RIVER, New Jersey – Hunter Douglas' patent infringement lawsuit against Shaoxing Hengfeng Curtain Factory, in the Hu Tang Industrial Zone, Shaoxing, Peoples Republic of China, has been settled.

The lawsuit was filed in April of 2007 and alleged infringement by Hengfeng of three Hunter Douglas United States patents for Silhouette® window shades. In the settlement, Hengfeng agreed to enter into a consent judgment, acknowledging that its subject products infringed upon the relevant Hunter Douglas patents. The Chinese company also agreed to destroy all infringing products and all materials and production equipment that was or could be used in the manufacture of the infringing products. The cost for the settlement was not disclosed.
