East Coast Buys Fabricade Property

April 29, 2019

BOHEMIA, N.Y. —Fabricade, a 61-year-old jobbing operation owned by Larry Gould, closed its doors this past February, but it has successfully sold its brand, jobber books, and inventory to East Coast Fabrics, Ltd. in Richmond Hill, Queens, N.Y.

Gould could not be reached for further comment.

East Coast is a small fabric jobber owned by Michael Handsman since 2006. Handsman would not divulge any other information about the transaction other than saying, “We’re not that kind of company. We would prefer if you didn’t publish news of this transaction.”

The East Coast website reads: “All of Fabricade’s books are still available for purchase. As we transition Fabricade’s systems over to East Coast Fabrics, there may be some delays in receiving stock from the mill. A new website will also be available soon to view books and patterns available from Fabricade.”
