ADO Contract Lines Sold Through JDI

January 21, 2010

FRANKFURT, Germany - ADO Corp. has entered the hospitality drapery business for the first time in the USA with a collection of 350 contemporary-styled, wide-width, decorative jacquards and burnouts, according to Walter Herr, president of ADO USA.

As part of the move to penetrate the hospitality market, Herr has named JDI, based in Las Vegas, as its exclusive sales representative in the USA under the guidance of Jay Dash, a hospitality market veteran. Dash plans to place the line in numerous showrooms throughout the U.S. as part of his marketing plan. Dash said the new lines have already been specified by design firms for use in hotels in Mumbai, India and Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Many international hotel projects are specified in the USA, he explained.

"ADO has always been a producer of 118-inch, no seam sheers for the residential market but the new contract lines grew out of the company's efforts in the European market," Herr said. He has been with the company since 2006. The products are made on a mill-direct basis in Aschendorf, Germany, Spartanburg, NC and in Indonesia, as well as from outside global sources, he said. The ADO hospitality collection passes NFPA 701 in the USA, he added.

The new lines represent about 10 percent of ADO's total collections and were first introduced at Heimtextil in 2008. The lines are the outgrowth of a more sophisticated design direction for the company over the past few years, Herr said.
