ADF Adds Cotton Velvet Line at Showtime

December 16, 2005

HIGH POINT, North Carolina – American Decorative Fabrics introduced a cotton velvet line for furniture at this month's Showtime.

"Suede has peaked," said owner David Li. "People are looking for solutions," Li said, and velvet offers them one.

In general, velvet sales have picked up in the North American market and in Europe.

According to Li, due to velvet's natural fiber and better hand it's more appealing.

"We're on fire," Li said of his company. He said the purchase of Westgate Fabrics in Texas approximately 18 months ago has proved to be successful.

"We want to be closer to consumers," Li said. "Westgate is a great brand that designers recognize and respect."

The company's new NYC showroom has also generated additional business for them. They have taken their first order for the small bedroom accessories line that was introduced in October.
